How to print double-sided without upside-down pages
Choose the right page-flipping edge, check a sample and count sheets correctly. Double-sided printing saves paper, but does not always halve the price.

Choose double-sided printing when you want a smaller stack and readers can use both sides of each sheet. Before printing the whole job, test one sheet and turn it the way you will read the finished document. The reverse should be upright.
When is single-sided more useful?
Use single-sided printing if the recipient requires it or you want blank backs for extensive handwritten notes. For pages with large dark areas, check a sample for show-through; the paper and printer affect the result.
Choose the edge you will turn
A portrait document read like a book normally flips on its long edge. A portrait pad flipped upwards needs the short edge. For landscape pages, think about the physical edge you will hold rather than relying on the option’s name.
Adobe’s duplex instructions explain the setting; available controls depend on the printer and driver.
Warqti’s current double-sided setting uses long-edge flipping. Check suitability before ordering a top-flipping document or a file with mixed orientations; do not assume the app offers a short-edge control.
Count sheets separately from printed pages
With one document page on each side, a 21-page file needs 11 sheets per copy: ten printed on both sides and a final sheet printed on one side. Two copies need 22 sheets and contain 42 printed pages.
That is a paper calculation, not a price quote. Warqti calculates from document pages, copies and the shop’s per-page rate, then applies a double-sided discount if the shop offers one. Half the sheets does not automatically mean half the price.
Check a sample before the full run
- Print the first two pages and flip the sheet along the intended edge.
- Check that the reverse is upright and the inner margin will remain readable after binding.
- Inspect the page order and the start of each section.
- Preserve intentional blank pages and remove accidental ones in the source file.
If you will bind the stack, read the binding comparison. For a readable study pack with less bulk, use the lecture-note printing plan.
